Description: Financial records of the University of Wisconsin--Stout and predecessor institutions from the Office of the Business Manager and later from the Office of Budget and Financial Services. The collection includes materials relating to payrolls and faculty salaries, the budget, various accounts, postwar (World War II) construction and improvement, student loans, financial transactions, Lyceum programs, student employment, coal payments, trust funds and special memorial accounts. There is a good deal of material relating to the Eichelberger Legacy Fund. The bulk of the material dates from 1909-1955.

Agency history: In the early years of Stout, the Business Manager or Business Office had responsibility for all financial, budgeting, and business affairs of the institution. As Stout grew, these responsibilities also grew dramatically so that in 1964 the Business Affairs division was established with separate offices of Accounting and Purchasing.
